Storage Software Firm Astrum Gets $5.3 Million in Series A

BOSTON -- Astrum Software, which provides storage resource management
software, said it has closed its Series A at $5.3 million. JMI Equity
Fund led the round, taking a 4.5% stake in the company. Ironside Ventures
and Morgan Keegan also participated. Bob Smith and Brad Woloson of JMI
will join the board of directors. The company said it will use the new
financing to recruit a management team and expand development, sales,
and marketing. Astrum expects the funding to last approximately 18 months.
The company has received seed funding from Aspen Invesments, Osborn
Capital, and individual investors.

invested in Massachusetts-based Bluesocket, a developer of technology
for Bluetooth mobile wireless devices. Both Osborn Capital and St. Paul
Venture Capital invested in the $5 million round.

Dulles, Va. -- America
Online, Inktomi and Adero announced today that they have formed an alliance
to improve content distribution over the Internet. The service, called
Content Bridge, is scheduled to launch in the fall and will compete
against Akamai Technologies, which supplies technology for updating
web sites at multiple data centers. In essence, Content Bridge is aimed
at speeding up download times by locating servers that contain web information
closer to end users. This requires a vast amount of coordination, which
is the purpose of the new partnership.

To Place Internet Terminals At PSINet Stadium
Baltimore, Md. --
Web-On-Site, a distributor of Internet terminals for public areas, announced
that it will install 20 of its Internet terminals in Baltimore's PSINet
Stadium. Baltimore-based Web-On-Site said it partnered with PSINet and
The Baltimore Ravens to provide the free
Internet stations that will be available during Ravens football games.
The Internet stations, branded for PSINet and The Ravens, will be placed
in other public locations in Baltimore during the off-season. Web-On-Site
also has stations in other well-known public areas, including Aspen
ski resort, Grand Hyatt Hotels, Madison Square Garden, and LaGuardia
Airport. The service is free; the company earns revenue from online
advertisements.

o Content Distributor Adero Raises $72 Million Third Round
BOSTON -- Adero,
a provider of Internet content and application distribution services,
said it raised $72 million in its third round of funding. New investors
Bowman Capital, Hikari Tsushin, ING Barings, Inktomi, Intel Capital,
Microsoft, Mitsubishi, and Reuters funded the round. The company will
use the funding for technology development, forming partnerships, and
for sales and marketing. Adero has also been backed by Fidelity Ventures,
M/C Venture Partners, Osborn Capital, and Spectrum Equity. Adero has
raised $105 million to date.

(Baltimore, MD) Baltimore-based Web-On-Site, a company that provides
Internet terminals in public locations, announced today a partnership
with Comcast Online Communications, a broadband provider. Under the
deal, Comcast Online will provide Internet access to many of Web-On-Site's
Internet stations in the Baltimore area. Web-On-Site said the Internet
terminals are located in areas including restaurants, doctors offices,
and service stations.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.
-- USPowerSolutions, which provides Internet commerce infrastructure
technology for the energy industry, said it named Key Compton as an
addition to its board of directors. Mr. Compton, an investor in USPowerSolutions,
is the founder and CEO of Solbright, an applications services provider.
He is also a co-founder of Mimeo.com and iStash.com. USPowerSolutions
recently announced the closing of its $3.7 million Series A round of
